IIDR was established in August
2000 with the following aims and objectives:

To disseminate
Islamic knowledge and worldview |

To research on
areas of contemporary relevance |

To promote a
balanced, moderate and comprehensive interpretation
of Islam |

To bridge the
gap between youth and scholars, knowledge
and activism, traditionalism and modernity,
Muslims and the wider society |

To promote change,
progress, development and creativity |
In order to fulfil the first
and second objective, the IIDR Da'wah series has
been launched. This comprises of booklets, audio
materials, and video cassettes which will be produced
under different series - Islamic
Belief Series, Islamic Law Series, Islamic Spirituality
Series booklet Islamic Movement Series, Islamic
Ideology Series, Islamic History Series, Occasional
Papers Series and so forth.
Short intensive courses
on Arabic and Islamic Sciences will be organised
in order to fulfill the third objective. Courses
such as Classical
Quranic Arabic (CQA) and the one month residential
- Tajdid 2002
are such examples.
